From Hell's Heart 002

Busy, busy, busy.

I'm trying to remember a time in the past when I was this busy and I can't think of anything even close. That's a good thing, I suppose.

Code Orange just put out a record called Forever and it's pretty awesome. I actually worked with the band and wrote their bio/press release for the album, which was a fun project. I was stoked to contribute - in a very small way - to art I enjoy. You can buy and stream Forever now. It's good.

I saw the band when they came through Arizona recently and it was intense. Total beast of a basement show that left the audience bruised and bloodied.

Late last year I did a few "Best of" lists for the Nerdist. The one I'm most proud of is my Scream at a Wall Best of 2016 where I got to highlight a lot of the music I loved throughout the year. I get a pretty long leash at Nerdist when it comes to my metal, punk, and hardcore writing, so this list is 100% a reflection of my taste, which isn't always the case when you're writing these sort of things.

Scream at a Wall: Best of 2016

I don't watch a lot of TV. Not because I don't like TV or think there is nothing good on, it just usually comes down to "sleep or watch" and I pick sleep.

That said, I'm watching Riverdale and I love it.  I wrote a review for the first episode and I've been recapping each episode right after it airs. It's pure trash, in the best possible way.

Riverdale is a Very Horny Twin Peaks

No, I still have not seen John Wick Chapter 2. Yes, I realize this makes me a bad person.
